ABOUT US

Latino Soy Cares, Inc. was created from a simple yet powerful vision: to uplift and support our community through compassion, opportunity, and connection.

What began as one man’s dream — Jose Santana’s — has grown into a multi-program nonprofit dedicated to empowering young adult men, supporting families facing food insecurity, and nurturing the next generation of leaders through sports, education, and community support.

Our Founder: Jose Santana

For over 30 years, Jose Santana has dedicated his life to serving the Merrimack Valley community. Through faith-based outreach, personal acts of giving, and 20+ years leading the Latino Soy Softball League, he has consistently shown what it means to uplift others through service, unity, and compassion.

Jose always believed that young adult men — especially those in inner-city communities — deserved a safe, structured, and positive environment where they could grow, compete, and build confidence. When he saw that most programs focused only on youth, he made it his mission to fill the gap.

Latino Soy Cares is the fulfillment of that lifelong dream.

Our Mission

Latino Soy Cares is dedicated to:

  • Empowering young adult men through competitive softball and leadership-building opportunities

  • Providing grocery gift cards to families facing food insecurity locally and internationally

  • In the near future - offering a safe, inspiring, one-week summer camp experience for children ages 7–12

We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive, and that through sports, community support, and compassion, we can create life-changing impact.

Our Story

What started as a softball league has grown into a nonprofit built on:

  • Community — bringing people together in meaningful, uplifting ways

  • Compassion — recognizing needs and responding with care

  • Opportunity — giving individuals and families the tools to succeed

  • Leadership — building future community leaders with strong values and strong support

From local parks to international outreach, Latino Soy Cares continues to grow because of dedicated volunteers, strong faith, community partnerships, and the passion of its founder.

Our Vision

We strive to build a community where:

  • Young adult men feel supported, connected, and empowered

  • Children grow in confidence, leadership, and character

  • Families never face hunger alone

  • All individuals have access to opportunities that help them thrive
